Is PHP difficult to learn for beginners?

I'm not a programmer and don't specialize in programming. But I'd like to use php in some way as I think it would be a useful language to know. How easy or difficult would php be for a beginner or could you suggest an alternative for someone starting out in programming?

PHP is easy to learn if you know about C, C++ and C# then you know about php little bit. Php syntax is also similar to JavaScript. So many website and social media site like Facebook are created on PHP programming language.

Actually PHP is very simple and easy to learn. If you want to learn PHP from beginning for "FREE" then you have to visit "thenewboston.com" here you can find 200+ PHP video tutorials and verities of other video tutorials like PHP, C, C#, C++, Ajax, Java, Javascript, CSS, HTML, iPhone, Python E.T.C

PHP is server side script language. If you have little bit knowledge about C,C++ and HTML. You can learn PHP very easily. PHP is open source scripting language. It is free to download and use. You can create simple and complex website through the PHP.

So how, have you managed to? I have learnt from codeacademy.com with some successes... try it babe. its really from scratch. I've watch some youtube, udemy- their "beginners course" arent really beginner...

And to pple out there, why are certain e.g. games are mostly code in PHP. and the others e.g. forums are in.... (well some php too) or something else... bleh..

yes codeacademy is free & interactive. from C++ to python.... they teaches via engagement w/ the program embedded & u can ask qns on forums...
but erm... .php is the old html... As in html was later on simplified from there... honestly (or maybe just me) php is nt easy at all.

Beverly, when I started programming, I often modified the code of other programmers to discover how it worked for what I wanted to accomplish. Over time, I was able to write a script without referencing any outside material. So IMO, PHP is very easy to understand, let alone learn, and that understanding part is most important. There are some languages I won't touch with a ten-foot cursor because of how complex they are.

Try, experiment, undo, and redo until it works. That's my PHP strategy! LoL

PHP is a server side language. Meaning it all happens on the server, not on your computer. All paid web hosting companies have PHP enabled, so all you need is create some file called wathever.php and as soon as you visit said file from your web browser, it runs the code. PHP can do MANY things. As a quick example, you can create a web visit counter. Every time the page is loaded, you can add one number, and store it on a .txt file on the server (so this data can be seen by the next visitors, for example).

Wether it is easy or hard its a relative thing. You should learn some HTML first if you dont know it, though, as HTML is used for displaying content generated by the PHP program.

PHP is the easy language ever I learned since it is GNU and free stuff.you have tons of snipets available online to try and re code things very easy.

I could say it's one of the easiest programming languages but everything depends on you.
If you indulge to it, it will be really easy for you to code free on it.

Most of our Web Developers at ConvertBetter.com uses PHP. I believe it's not that hard to learn. Go watch some tutorials on youtube, or you may also go to w3schools.
