How did you first learn Programming?

I learned when I was young. I started with Basic for Dos and I loved it. I actually read the manual, I was 7 years old. I didn't learn it well, mind you, but I learned it enough to make text based programs and spur me onto becoming a professional programmer later on.

I took programming in High school as well, then again in collage majoring in Computer Programming. The most knowledge that I learned was after collage in the actual field, programming for a major company. I feel like I became a scholar at that point, learning on my own and actually loving to program. I read a lot of books which took me into the professional field, I feel.

So, how did you start and end your programming learning? If you can end, I am still learning.

It was when I discovered that i could change text on a website and make it look like I want it to. Then I got onto designing mine. Bored with designing, came the ultimate world of dev. Sheer passion and there is no looking back.

When I was 13, my father said that I could create my own website by learning programming languages. And I started. W3Schools, index.html and old notepad helped me much!

I was interested in web development when I was 13. I picked up Perl and then eventually PHP. I've been stuck on PHP ever since although I have dabbled in other languages such as C# and Visual Basic. 

I learned from online tutorials, videos, training courses and books. Books being the best source that I've learned from so far. I still read books about PHP even now.

I started when I was about 14. I used Code Academy and tried out all the different coding programs. After having so much fun being able to make all these things with code I started using it more and more.

I started quite young taking advantage of game vulnerabilities to get premium game currency for free, then I decided to go a little further and start programming other languages. I am now quite good at many languages rather than just one and I learned programming from sites like php.net etc
