    - compress images
    - merge several images into one
    - disable unnecessary plugins

    this sums up .. i just want to add that cleaning your js and css for unused classes will help

    It is a responsibility of a webmaster to insert small size images (compressed images) in the website. Also, avoid javascript and animations. These increase the load time. Check if any unnecessary plugin is activated, disable it.
