Should you try to modify your own CSS file?

Is it a good idea to modify the CSS file? Or, is there a risk you could mess up your site?

Always take backup and then try to modify a code/css file. Also, if you are not very good at css then it is advised to hire a professional Should you try to modify your own CSS file?. But if you are good, then you can try out by taking backup.

If you want to modify it then always have a backup in case you mess it up.

If you know what you are doing then I would say have a backup and do it. I would have no clue where to start so I would never do it myself.

Should you try to modify your own CSS file? "No clue where to start" .. how interesting. I remember when I didn't know CSS, it looked like unorganized text.. lol But, however I think if you want to change the colors or whatever it is than go for it! As always have a back up..
