Hey guys! Today I'm gonna do a review on a website called PortableApps. As you can ascertain from the name, the website provides portable applications for it's users. Let's start the review.
The Software And Features:
A portable application is an application you can bring with you anywhere. For example, having Microsoft Office on a USB. This however, is not possible. There are other softwares that do allow you to run them portably. The excellent efficiency that comes with being able to do this, is brought to us by having the ability to bring useful apps with you everywhere you go. The same type of portability cannot be said for smartphones. Smartphones have great software as well, but not with the same capabilities as portable PC/Mac/Linux Applications. PortableApps provides this service for free and for everyone. They provide the latest updates to their portable software as well as releasing new portable software occasionally. The software they release is not custom-made. It's applications that you and I use every single day. PortableApps provides over 300 portable applications to their users. They also come with an easy to use platform so you can run the software from their platform instead of searching through your USB.
The Apps:
PortableApps makes it easy to browse the web (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera), manipulate and edit images (Gimp, Blender, InfranView), watch/listen to all your media (AIMP, VLC Media Player, XMPlay) amd MANY MORE! The software I listed in the brackets is only a tiny fraction of the vast array of software they provide. The best part is, you can take it ALL anywhere as long as you have the space for it. I'll give you a couple of my favorite apps to use. Google Chrome, VLC, Skype, Audacity, and NotePad++. The Google Chrome application is extremely useful when I'm on the go. The best part is, it saves your history, bookmarks, and settings no matter WHERE you are. It does this with all of it's applications, unless there are external dependencies such as a file saved on your hard drive instead of the USB, etc. PortableApps even has a portable Microsoft Office, of sorts, called OpenOffice. It gives you spreadsheets, documents, and presentations, all with Microsoft Compatibility. The variety of applications they actually provide is excellent and surpasses all of my needs now and in the future. They even have a portable app maker of their own so you can package your own PC applications into an app to bring along with you anywhere you go.
The Conclusion
PortableApps will make it easy for you to go anywhere without worrying about forgetting something at home. you can go to the office, your friends house, a hotel, etc. and keep all your favorite applications with you the entire time. Want to waste time? They also provide portable games for a plane, car, or bus ride. PortableApps is a great software for anyone who moves around a lot. Go look up PortableApps today and find your favorite app!
I really hope you liked my review and overview of all the features of PortableApps!
